Download Teamstudio Case Study

Teamstudio designs software asset management technologies that address IT governance requirements — with policies and best practices for control, compliance, efficiency and security within the IBM Lotus Notes environment. An IBM Business Partner since its inception in 1995, it participates in IBM PartnerWorld® Industry Networks and is optimized in the banking industry.

Challenge

IBM Lotus Notes is collaboration software, and there are thousands of applications, including countless customer-developed Notes® applications, that are simple to design and implement, even by end users. A company can find that its ability to govern the growth and usage of its IBM Lotus Notes and Domino infrastructure is strained.

A major U.S. based financial services company asked Teamstudio for assistance with reconfiguring some 2,600 IBM Lotus Notes applications after it had been spun off by its parent company. Every application had to reflect new branding -- including name, corporate logo and look and feel for its documents. The customer estimated it would take more than five months of manual work to identify changes and more to customize applications to ensure they would work in the new environment.

Solution

Teamstudio performed an automated analysis across the designs of all applications, pinpointing problem areas. The process was carried out in five weeks, saving the client tens of thousands of dollars and ensuring the project was done right the first time.

Benefits

• Automated audit of IBM Lotus Notes and Domino assets enables administrators to better manage change
• Audit process points the way to a best-practices regime as usage of IBM Lotus Notes and Domino continues to evolve
• Governance and control can be imposed on an infrastructure in which applications tend to proliferate.
