During the holiday season everyone likes to receive a gift or two (or five). But as the old saying goes, “It is better to give than to receive.”
With that in mind, we are happy to announce a special offer for our existing and potential clients. For the remainder of December 2019 and for the entire month of January 2020 we are offering our services to perform an analysis and audit for one of your HCL Notes/Domino applications at no charge to you!
This offer also coincides with our release of a new set of Analysis Audit Filters to check that your HCL Notes applications will run on the recently launched HCL Domino 11 and the new HCL Nomad mobile applications.
For each new release of HCL Domino we update our set of Audit Filters. These filters can identify areas within your HCL Notes applications where there will be a need to change your design in order for them to work efficiently and correctly within HCL Domino 11. We also offer a set of Audit Filters which can identify the areas of your HCL Notes applications which will have issues running on a mobile device in the new HCL Nomad mobile client.
What we are offering is for you to receive the Analysis and Audit output for one of your existing HCL Notes applications. All you will need to do is supply us with a Design Only copy of the HCL Notes application you want to have us analyze and we will provide you with two HCL Notes databases with the output.
So, what does the analysis output look like and what can you do with it? First let me explain what the analysis output includes. There will be two HCL Notes databases provided to you:
1. Teamstudio Analyzer Analysis Output
Analyzer works by reading the design of your Notes database or template. It then creates a separate Notes database that represents the design. The resulting “analysis output” database contains a separate document for each design element (such as a form, view, subform, field, etc.) with fields that represent each property or attribute of that design element. This database can be searched, or views and reports can be created to highlight potential issues before the application is deployed.
2. Teamstudio Reports – Auditor Output
When Analyzer is run it can also perform special searches, or Audits, of your design. The Audits that will be run are specifically created to determine the readiness of your HCL Notes Application for use in HCL Domino 11 and on the HCL Nomad mobile client. Once the Audits are completed you will have a list of design elements that may need to be corrected in order to operate in the new platforms. Many times, the changes to the design elements are minor, but in some cases your existing design could cause problems that will require more significant design changes. The Audits will report on design elements that are using variables, custom objects, properties or methods that are now included in the latest release of HCL Domino 11. The Audits will also review your code for LotusScript, Java and @Formula calls that do not operate on the HCL Nomad client.
The end result will be a series of reports that can help you determine if your HCL Notes application will function in the latest releases of the HCL offerings. If you were tasked to create these reports manually it would take you days (if not weeks). We can provide you with the reports rapidly so that you can use this information to determine when your organization can move to the latest versions of the HCL offerings. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the output, not only for its content but that it will show you that there are very little changes needed, if any at all!
