We love improving our products! We are continuously releasing compatibility and feature enhancements for our Lotus Notes archiving solution, Teamstudio Export, and to ensure alignment with our customer's needs and requirements, we need your input!
After the success of our previous open beta featuring Embedded View support, we are excited to make available our next beta release featuring a major new feature, which brings support for @dblookup logic within your exported Notes application web sites.
And so, we would like to invite current customers and anyone interested in or involved with HCL Notes/Domino database export or archive projects to participate in an open beta preview of our upcoming Export v4.4 release.
Things to be aware of:
Unlike earlier beta releases, there are no particular restrictions or different details on using the @dblookup-enabled beta release of Teamstudio Export. Simply use Export to archive applications that use @dblookup logic. The only significant point to remember is that there may be noticeable changes in performance (at export time, not run time). Thus, we recommend starting with smaller databases rather than ones with hundreds of thousands of documents.
Generating Support File Packages:
You may often need to hunt down or submit different design aspects within your application for submission along with the issue for analysis and patching.
We wanted to make it as easy as possible for our beta testers to submit support files when they come across these errors or scenarios where unexpected results occur.
We have added the ability to collect relevant design components into a mini archive containing the data document, the error message, and any forms, subforms, shared fields, and embedded views (both design and data) that were used to export the document.
There are two ways in which to generate the above support file.
When Export identifies a specific error:
You will notice a 'Create Support File' button on the referenced error UI when an error occurs. Simply click the button to generate the support archive.
When you notice unexpected results in your Export HTML/PDF Archives:
In this case, you will find an option on the right-click shortcut menu.
Determine the Note ID where you are noticing the inconsistent results, and once you select the DB from the Export UI and choose 'Create Support File' from the shortcut menu, it will ask you for the Note ID. After which, the support file will be created containing the Note ID sample and all of its dependencies.
You can submit the associated file support package along with your support/feedback ticket.
